I Have a Dream, Too

I have a dream. I have a dream that one day all people will live in peace and find happiness in whatever they choose to do. I have learned that happiness is a choice. I have learned that success is most easily accessed when a person is doing something they enjoy and have a passion for. I have a passion for learning and I enjoy helping others while exploring the world around me. To that end I have been working since 1989 on a concept that has developed into FullSpectrum Thinking. It has changed my life and given me hope. I would like to share this concept with everyone and I sincerely hope it will help you as much as it did me.
I have a dream. I have a dream where each day I wake up a better man. I try to do the right thing. I try to be a better person each and every day. I think I’ve done well with what I’ve been given. In February of 1996 I made a personal decision to change my life and vowed, “To stop drinking alcohol, FOREVER!” and thus far I have stood by my conviction with no regrets. I decided to go back to college and follow my dreams. One of my first courses led me to explore what it meant to be, Growing Up in a Drunken Family, and I then began a journey of continuing education that has led me to where I am today. To that end The RecoveryXone was developed as a FullSpectrum of programs for overcoming addictions and managing emotions that sometimes get out of control. It worked for me and now 17 years later I am still alcohol free and choosing happiness.
I have a dream. I have a dream where the heroes have no need for weapons or any desire for violence. This idea inspired my whole system of looking at the world and teaching character development with heroes whose stories also taught the arts and sciences. This inspiration led me to the creation of, The FullSpectrum Heroes, who are super heroes who try to work through life’s trials and tribulations without the use of violence; No Bullies Allowed. To that end my heroes developed into a series of books including 4 developmental age groups for building literacy skills which include stories, lesson plans, activities and more all intended on entertaining the student reader as they learn.
I have a dream. I have a dream that I will live a long and healthy life. This motivated me to begin working-out, walking more and trying to eat more nutritiously. To this end I obtained certification as a Personal Trainer & Aerobic Kickboxing Instructor (2002) through the International Fitness Association (IFA). I learned to calm myself and the chaos around me by taking a moment each day and practicing Mindfulness Meditation. I have developed FullSpectrum programs to share with everyone this simple system to guide us to our goals of living a longer healthier life, FullSpectrum HealthStyles.
I have a dream. I have a dream that one day there will be an enhancement to the public school system which I envision as a multigenerational learning center comprised of an Art Studio, a Health Center, a Daycare Center, a Fitness Center, a Homeschool Resource Center, an Afterschool Care Center, an Outdoor Classroom, Tutoring and College Prep assistance, a Science & Technology Lab, a Self-Help Discovery Center all under one roof which I call the BearPath Learning Center . To this end in order to prepare for such a place to manifest itself I began my academic studies, again, as an adult. First, I attended FMCC and obtained an A.A.S. in Early Childhood Education (2003), I continued on and attended Empire State College where I obtained a B.S. in Human Development/Psychology (2008). Then I logged into Webster University to obtain a Master of Arts in Teaching Multidisciplinary Studies (2013) with an emphasis on Humane Education and Character Development which I hope to receive in 2013.
I have a dream. I have a dream to one day break the bonds of poverty and live a life with no financial stressors. I have over the years worked in numerous settings, assuming varied positions of authority and acquired a vast array of talents. To that end I established Bysen Entrepreneurial Enterprises as a tool to hopefully find financial freedom. This enterprise is a conglomeration of businesses brought together to ease the search for services for those who need them and make use of my varied talents. For now, I have developed a Curriculum Vita to replace my résumé in hopes of obtaining work as a means of supporting and moving towards my dreams.
I have a dream. I have a dream where one day the world will find itself living as one big caring family of Earthlings. I found myself searching for meaning in my life and meaning in life itself. I studied world religions as well as the meaning of morality in regards to culture, genetics, neurology and societal development. I have hopes of establishing, The FullSpectrum Theological Consortium, an open group of spiritual thinkers to share philosophical and spiritual ideals, thoughts and hopes. To that end I sought to be an Ordained Minister through the Universal Life Church (1999).
I have a dream. I have a dream to be able to live a life doing something I love and sharing my love of the outdoors and the Adirondack Mountains of upstate New York with everyone hence, AdirondackXtreme Adventures. I hope to combine my love for learning and exploring with a means to help others and enjoy the outdoors while making a living by offering various programs and outdoor adventures. To that end I have become a NYS Licensed Outdoor Guide (2012) and will be developing a FullSpectrum of outdoor programs to offer the public schools as an alternative educational possibility.
I have a dream. I have many dreams and yearn to see some of them come to fruition while I am still alive and coherent. This has led me to here and now where I am reaching out for help and hoping to find Kindred Spirits who can assist and/or join me on this Journey. My dreams are what I hope will remain as my legacy. I have a dream.
(To be continued.)
I have a dream… I have a dream where I am a beacon of light guiding the way through the dark forest of life. “Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented and fabulous? Actually, who are you NOT to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We are born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It’s not just in some of us; it’s in everyone. And as we let our light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.” Marianne Williamson
